Company (Amy) - Novato Theatre Company
“Yet somehow there was an even more wonderful performance—Nicole Thordsen's Amy. She has a charm and comic sense that kept me laughing—and occasionally gasping—every time she was featured. Her performance of "Getting Married Today" is nearer perfection. The song requires incredible energy, rhythm, breath control, and faultless enunciation. Thordsen managed not only all of these, but added a terrific comic acting performance on top of it. She alone is worth the journey to Novato.”
-Patrick Thomas, Talkin’ Broadway
“Did I say I was surprised by this production? Nicole Thordsen was one major reason. Her rendition of “Getting Married Today” (subtitled “I’m not getting married today”) was just amazing. The staccato words flowed like a Tommy gun over the audience, loud and clear.”
-Gary Gonser, Imagination Lane
“Nicole Thordsen’s Amy is a standout in her neurotic panic attack, gibbering about boiled orange juice and marriage while being serenaded by Jennifer Rodway’s increasingly satirizing lyrics, clutching a bouquet of lilies with counterfeit innocence.”
-Alexa Chipman, Imagination Lane
“Robert’s advisors deliver their wisdom partly in dialog and partly in song, all of them in fine voice, especially Nicole Thordsen as Amy, who steals the show with her fantastic performance of “Getting Married Today.”
-Barry Willis, Marin Independent Journal
"There were lots of reasons to love this show...but the very best reason was Nicole Thordsen’s portrayal of Amy. Near perfection. Her performance of the rapid patter number, “Getting Married Today” was the best I have ever heard."

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (Diva/Shirley) - Theatre Rhinoceros
“As speech-slurring barfly Shirley, Nicole Thordsen does such sonic gymnastics with each syllable as to become the Eliza Doolittle of the Outback.”
-Lily Janiak, San Francisco Chronicle
Sweeney Todd (Johanna) - Bay Area Stage
“Other standouts included…Nicole Thordsen, as Johanna whose operatic voice sent shivers down spines on songs like “Green Finch and Linnet Bird.”
-Tony Wade, Daily Republic
“Nicole Thordsen is a lovely Johanna, sounding much like a musical songbird in “Green Finch and Linnet Bird.” Benjamin Day is equally strong as Anthony, Johanna’s suitor and rescuer. Day sings a brave and strong “Johanna,” and both shine in their spotlight duet, “Kiss Me.”

The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Rosa Bud) - Town Hall Theatre
“Shepard teams up with a fine-voiced Nicole Thordsen (Rosa) for an intimately-beautiful and intimately-lit “Perfect Strangers.”
-Marc Gonzalez, Road to 1000
The Fantasticks (Luisa) - Novato Theater Company
“…soon we are rooting for the lovers: Matt (dashing Cordell Wesselink) and Luisa (precocious Nicole Thordsen). Wearing a college block-letter sweater, Matt woos the young Luisa. As they beautifully sing “Metaphor,” their magical duet brings us hope for young love.”
-Robert M. Gardner, Theatrius
“Nicole Thordsen is beautiful and a very good vocalist, performing Luisa with exactly the right innocence and excitement about being in love with Matt.”
-Flora Lynn Isaacson, For All Events
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Truly Scrumptious) - Bay Area Stage
“Michael Doppe holds up well as protagonist Caractacus Potts, a poor, widowed inventor struggling to raise his two children, aided by an equally strong Nicole Thordsen as dream girl Truly Scrumptious. Both are masters of the stage.”
-Elizabeth Warnimont, Benicia Herald
Nunsense (Sister Mary Amnesia) - Novato Theater Company
"Sister Mary Amnesia is played by Nicole Thordsen, who absolutely blew me away a few years ago with her performance of "Getting Married Today" in the NTC production of Company. Her perky demeanor and flawless comic timing are on display here, as well. If only she had some better songs to work with! (A polite suggestion to NTC: cast this young woman as Sally Bowles in your production of Cabaret later this season!)"
-Patrick Thomas, Talkin’ Broadway
"Thordsen’s portrayal is both endearing and hilarious, as she navigates her character’s childlike innocence with impeccable comedic timing. Her interactions with the audience, combined with her musical talents, offer some of the most uproarious moments of the night."
-Joseph Cillo, For All Events
“Nicole Thordsen, who was fantastic in Novato Theater Company’s “Spamalot" in February, brings heartwarming sympathy to the role of hapless Sister Mary Amnesia, who’s suffered some impact to her cognitive functions."
-Barry Willis, Marin Independent Journal
